After a few hours of sleep in Amritsar, I started my day in the city. My main motivation was to find a SIM card, so I went to explore Amritsar. After going to every convenience store and even the Vodafone store, I finally got a SIM card from Airtel. Then I went on an exploration tour with the Golden Temple as my destination.
I spent a good two hours there until I decided to move on. On the way back, I came across a group of tourists my age. Since I had spent a week without much social contact, I wanted to meet some people, so I approached the group and spent the rest of the day with them. We even volunteered in the huge soup kitchen of the Sikh Temple, where the food was actually quite good.
Unfortunately, the group moved on in the evening. The next day, I spent a lot of time at the Golden Temple, bought some shampoo, and finally washed my hair properly for the first time in over 7 days :)
The next day, I continued my journey to Dharamshala by public bus. I met a man from New Zealand during the bus ride who gave me a lot of helpful tips. The bus ride was quite bearable, although it got a bit crowded towards the end, and 10km before Dharamshala, the bus decided to stop.
However, the man from New Zealand had an appointment and was picked up by his friend, a monk who came in a taxi. He offered me a ride as well, and even paid for the taxi to my accommodation :)
