Get up and make a fire. The guests light a candle and start singing. Mati is having a birthday. Unfortunately, I don't know the text.
After the usual oatmeal in the morning, I hike down to Refugio Notros. On the way, I run into Marco, who is accompanying a tour group. Juliette and Lars are waiting for me at the Refugio with lunch. Spaghetti with a kind of carbonara sauce, but without bacon. I've had worse meals. Lars goes up to Refugio Alerces and Juliette and I wait for the ups and downs. Picking up guests; taking guests away.
Today the waves are rough, so I have to hold onto both of them with the rope so the boat doesn't drift away. Among the newcomers are a few Swiss people who rave about trekking in El Chalten, Argentina. The boat leaves for the last time at 6pm, then it's over. I rummage through the bookshelf and find a piece of mirror (there is nowhere else to find it here). It's time for a shave.
In the evening, Juliette makes bread and I do the dishes. On Marco's orders, Juliette teaches me Escobar, a Chilean card game. The playing cards are also Chilean. Noble-looking figures, like the classic cards, only instead of hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades, there are dagger, sword, coin, and a peculiar club dotted with seashells (or similar).
