Today is departure day. This afternoon we are heading to Tenerife.

From the Shire

The earth cave settlement was designed by Peter Wetsch.

Each space layout is individually planned, including the positioning of rooms towards the morning or evening sun.

In addition, due to the construction, the houses have good insulation, making them very ecological.

Located directly on the slope, you have a wonderful view from the terraces into the outskirts of Zurich.

The Princess' Castle

Fairy worlds meet. Just across the street from the Lord of the Rings houses stands a castle from a Disney film.

First Hints

Already on the way up, we come across strange figures like oversized frogs. Also here at the earth houses, first hints of what is to come.

The Sculpture Park

'I mean, I'm too close. You need distance for that. I can't catalog my work.'

Bruno Weber when asked which artistic direction he would categorize himself in.

Personally, I classify his art between Maya works, Buddhist and Hindu impressions, Egyptian mythology, and Chinese mythical creatures. Coupled with influences from local and regional narratives and stories.

Bruno Weber passed away in 2011 - he was never able to complete his park. At the age of 80, he was 20 years short of his life goal of reaching 100 years old. His ashes rest in the park.

After only 7 years, many of his sculptures already show signs of weathering. Unfortunately, the park is not centrally located.

Despite the high entrance fee of 18 CHF, the small excursion and admiration of a unique artist's work is worth it.
