The day today is quickly told. We did absolutely nothing. Just rested - that's called chilling today. We only observed the kittens here in the square, listened to the birds chirping, and admired the blue sky. Otherwise, the motto was 'Let everything be even'.

Oh, we do have something to tell.

This morning we took a walk through the idyllic village. Many small cute houses, a corner shop that serves as the meeting point for the morning drink on Sundays, a little river, the Saint-Jean chapel, and right next to it the Saint-Laurent church, which looks way too big for the village. But it is beautiful: huge arched ceilings, colorful windows, crystal chandeliers above the altar, and mighty columns. Behind it is the cemetery, where there is even a grave of someone who passed away in 1880!

Then we discovered a kind of carport with a rectangular stone water basin, into which water from the river bubbled and drained. An information board revealed what it was all about:

Upstream, the river water seeps into underground caves through cracks in the limestone. Downstream, however, there is a blockage, which is why it does not seep, but bubbles up to the surface in many small springs. The largest spring was used for the mill until 1960.

According to legend, young people used to meet there to dance. However, they ignored the sound of the church bells and practically renounced the church, because the devil was the dance master. One day, the most terrible punishment was given for this. After the last ring of the church bell, an abyss opened up and water spouted out of the ground, drowning everyone!

That's all for today. Tomorrow we will set off and leave France behind us. You can read where we end up tomorrow. Have a nice Sunday evening!

Best regards
