Windy Wellington

வெளியிடப்பட்டது: 08.01.2024

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and is so small that it can be easily explored on foot.

To get from the South Island to Wellington you have to use the ferry. The crossing takes almost 4 hours and is totally relaxed; the ferry didn't even rock.

When I arrive in Wellington I drive straight to my parking space. For the next two nights I park in a parking lot in the city center because there is no campsite in Wellington.

Wellington's nickname is Windy Wellington. You can easily guess the reason and I can feel it directly. When I arrive at the parking lot, my camper is already rocking back and forth.

Since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I'll use the rest of the day and look at Wellington. There is an interesting water feature, old and new houses, a funicular, a parliament - called the Beehive - and an old 4-story government building - built entirely of wood.

Always with me on my way through the city is of course the wind, which is pretty strong today and will probably rock me to sleep tonight...
