In Paradise Pangkor Island

வெளியிடப்பட்டது: 14.08.2018

From the mountains, we went to the island. Pangkor Island!! Originally, we booked only 3 nights on the island, and this time we even treated ourselves to a nice hotel slightly over budget. Still, it was relatively a bargain. From the bed, you could see the sea and hear the waves crashing in the morning, and breakfast on the water was just amazing :)

To be honest, we didn't expect much from the island. We have often heard about Asian dream islands and in the end, there was trash everywhere. But mass tourism seems to have not yet arrived on Pangkor Island. The island is not big and there aren't many fancy restaurants yet. But there is an incredibly beautiful beach with fine sand, turquoise water, and NO trash!! The locals seem to care very much about their piece of earth and you can see many women picking up trash. One evening, we went to a small restaurant right on the beach and had a 'candlelight dinner' in the sand with freshly grilled fish that we could choose ourselves beforehand. We were sitting on plastic chairs and with a dirty tablecloth, but somehow authentic and typical Asian =)

Normally, I am an absolute beach fanatic and we usually have beach days only upon my request. But here it was different even. There were waves like I have never experienced anywhere else. Jonas had a lot of fun and spent hours in the waves. After I was knocked down a few times, swallowed 10 liters of water, scraped my knee, had sand everywhere, and was washed up on the beach like a dead fish, I preferred to watch the spectacle from the towel. Jonas, on the other hand, couldn't get out of the water anymore. We liked it so much that we stayed 3 nights longer than planned and chilled on the beach every day. Thanks to Chiara and Marvin for the great tip =)

A small highlight was when we took a little sightseeing tour on the scooter and suddenly saw a small cobra in the middle of the road. Even some locals stopped and were fascinated by the animal. But no one dared to get closer, the animal seemed really dangerous.

After spending almost all of our time on the island, we took a bus to Kuala Lumpur one day and the next morning we continued directly to Singapore. We flew to Vietnam early in the morning to the island of Phu Quoc. Let's see if it has as much to offer as Pangkor Island :)
