Summer doesn't last forever in Berlin either.
Winter in Berlin lasts five months. Accordingly, we take the announcement seriously that we will have at most three more summer days and go outside.
On Sunday we will go to Köpenick. Almost Brandenburg but still Berlin. Beautiful walking paths by the water and a piece of cake in the old town.
On Monday we will go to the Britzer Garden. It doesn't sound spectacular, but it is. On the grounds of BuGa 1985, there are certainly 20 km of hiking trails through different landscapes, which could still be BuGa today. What is really sensational is the Dahlienfeuer, which eats its way through about 2000 sqm. A man, about the same age as Sebastian Kurz, received a European prize for this exhibition.
If we wanted to steal one of the carp in the pond, we would have had to take the large suitcase with us. So the splendid specimens remain in the water.
On Tuesday we will head to Volkspark Friedrichshain. This is the oldest park in Berlin and yet still fresh. The people in the northeast have a firm grip on the area. Beach volleyball, raising children, jogging, hanging out, taking a nap, chatting: everything works wonderfully here. The park is big enough to forget the city, but everywhere there are small theme parks within the park, which are suitable for retreating and offer everyone their own special corner.
We will spend the next sunny day on the train. We are going to the Reich. Let's see what the weather is like there.
