Sooo !!!
Finally, it's time to go.
All the flowers are taken care of, the apartment is tidy, and the loved ones are bid farewell.
Ulla and I are starting for Slovenia by car after Franzi&Lukas' wedding.
Of course, we're taking the bikes with us.
We're taking the route we tested in Embach, first to Austria, then through the Tauern Tunnel, and over the Wurzenpass.
The weather is great and we're staying at the first campsite in Kranjska Gora.
On Monday, 13.7., we'll drive a bit by car to the Sova Valley, then switch to the e-bike and cycle to Bled. First, we'll ride the old railway line until we accidentally discover that we can switch to the Radovna Valley in Mojstrana. Very idyllic and rural here!
At Lake Bled, I jump right into the water and enjoy the picturesque view that can be found in the travel guide. The return journey takes us via Radovljica, with a coffee break in the baroque cityscape, and along the unfortunately busy country road to Jesenice. Then we can ride the last stretch on a quiet separate bike path and cool off in the Sava River.
On Tuesday, 14.7.20, we continue to the Soca Valley. At the top of the pass, we get off and head towards the 2333m high Mala Mojstrovka. We have a great view of the Luli Alps with Triglav in the middle. After the descent, I treat myself to a bike ride to the source of Soca. A real big stream gushes out of the rock face here, crystal clear and blue!
Today, we need 3 attempts to find a nice campsite in front of Soca.
As a reward, we go to the restaurant for river trout, fried potatoes, and a strong dark beer. mmhm.
