Tongariro Crossing, Kayak Carving Tour, Nightlife Walk & Coromandel Walk

Yes - we have been busy the last few days and have been on the move a lot. Since it is sooo summery here now, Kyra and I are of the opinion that we should work on our bikini figure :D :D So we went to Taupo to finally dare to attempt the alpine crossing through Mordor (Paddy & I had to postpone it due to winter weather conditions). So off to Mount Doom! All I can say is: I HATE STAIRS!! Otherwise, it was incredible! The hike takes you through two active volcanoes up to almost 1,900 m in height. The landscape - breathtaking and completely different from anything we have seen before. Since we had to drive a bit and only had 4 hours of sleep the night before, we were "flat" the next day. In the afternoon, I decided to go jogging for 8 km :D The next day, we rented kayaks and went to Maori Carving. The kayak tour lasted a total of three hours. The carving is 14m high and was carved into the stone by Maoris for 4 summers and completed in 1980 to preserve the art of the Maori. After that, we headed to Rotorua, where we went on a two-hour night walk. I reassured myself with the thought that there are no dangerous animals in New Zealand :D We were supposed to see Kiwis on the walk - but we only heard them ^^ The last two days we were in Coromandel. Yes... we have been here before. I looove Coromandel and insisted on coming back. Coromandel is one of the most beautiful places we have seen here. We also had the opportunity to walk the Coromandel Walkway again. Paddy and I already tried it in winter, but had to turn back halfway due to the weather. This time we were able to walk the 20 km and when we returned to Coromandel, I was just as enchanted as the first time. On the second day we went to New Chum Beach. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand and we lounged in the sun... Now we have set up our tents in Waipu near the beach & see what there is to discover in the next few days.
