Upon entering the jeep this morning, I find a puppy and can't believe my eyes! I immediately fall in love!

Our driver had picked up the puppy from the road after nearly running it over.

I then get to be a dog mom for two hours. We name him Khwai, give him something to drink, and feed him dried springbok meat. He is very thirsty and hungry.

When we switch vehicles, Khwai then moves on with his new owner, and it's time to say goodbye.

After several hours of driving, we arrive in Gweta and take a small tour of the 2000-inhabitant town.

To conclude the day, there's still a sundowner excursion planned. We drive to a place where two huge, about 3000-year-old baobab trees stand. The fruit of this tree feels as if covered with short, soft fur.

Baobabs can live up to 4000 years. They have shallow roots, and when the roots can no longer support the tree, it simply breaks apart.

The sun sets, and we drive to the lodge.
