After my first night, I slowly realized that I am really here, everything has worked out so far and now I can shape the coming weeks as I want. The fact that a burden must definitely have been lifted off my shoulders was probably also evident in my voice, because I definitely received feedback on my voice messages that I now sound much happier, more joyful and freer - what a change of place can do! :)
Of course, I also associate this time with some hopes, wishes and dreams, and I am already curious today how my conclusion will turn out in the end.
At the same time, however, I have noticed again through the warnings from friends and family that I started this journey completely without fear, and in my opinion, if I had any fears, I should not have undertaken it at all. Of course, South Africa is a different ball game than Germany, but I am sure that my instinct and gut feeling will guide me through this time safely, and by avoiding certain situations and places, I shouldn't get into any strange situations anyway.
In any case, I spent Sunday, after a delicious freshly prepared breakfast from my accommodation host, with walks on the promenade and then in the evening I enjoyed the wonderful sunset without a phone and internet. Another goal for the coming weeks: reduce the time on the phone at least & enjoy the moment more.
Afterwards, at dinner, of course alone, I had to leave my comfort zone for the first time: I have set myself the goal of becoming more sociable and open during this time and now an American, also traveling alone, approached me from the neighboring table. He obviously wanted to start a conversation and I actually managed to engage in it, so we talked for quite a while about various things.
Maybe my first glass of South African wine was to blame for that, but in any case, I fell into bed happy and buoyant in the evening.
