From Oslo Fjords to Örebro (13th & 14th August 2017)

Publicerad: 15.08.2017

Even on the last day in Oslo, we were lucky with the weather. That was just right for us as we had planned a day trip to the Oslo Fjords. Similar to Gothenburg, we were able to use our tram and bus ticket to also take the ferry to the nearby islands. Our first stop was the island of Hovedøya, which unfortunately is very touristy. However, it was suitable for swimming. With an outside temperature of 21 degrees and sunshine, the water was still cold but acceptable, so at least Niko and I dared to go into the water ;)

In the evening, we then went to another island where we found a beautiful viewpoint with a bench. From there, we watched the sunset with an overpriced canned beer. The atmosphere was indescribable. For me, it was one of the highlights of the trip so far!

On the next day, we continued our journey. This time our destination was Örebro in Sweden. On one hand, we would have liked to stay longer, but on the other hand, we were already looking forward to the comparatively 'cheap' alcohol ;)
Since we traveled to Örebro without any expectations, the city turned out to be a positive surprise. Although the city has only 2/5 of the population of Gothenburg with 120,000 inhabitants, we liked it much better from the first impression.
Not only the city, but also our hosts were a positive surprise. They picked us up from the train station and even gave us a small city tour before we drove to the accommodation. Swedish sweets were waiting for us there. The accommodation itself is very cool. This is mainly due to the large outdoor area with a pool and garden. Unfortunately, the 'house' is more like a garden house. It is very modern and cozy, but very small and we don't have a kitchen, only a microwave and a refrigerator. However, that doesn't matter as the weather (once again contradicting the forecast) is very nice. It's a bit like luxury camping ;).
