SVERIGE HURRAY!

Publicerad: 07.06.2023

There doesn't seem to be as much excitement about the National Day on 6/6 here in Sweden as in Switzerland. The stores are open, there aren't more flags hoisted than usual, and we only spotted four adults with Sweden shirts in front of a supermarket. But whether they were actually Swedes...?!?

After a short rise at dawn at 4 a.m., we went back under the warm covers for a few more hours. Quick breakfast (äppel kräm (delicious stuff, yum) with yogurt and muesli), load up the bikes, and quickly put on the cover (yeah right..., but we'll soon be faster at it). Off to a must-see in Sweden. We've driven by it before, but we didn't know about its fame, the car cemetery Kyrko Mosse.

Definitely worth a stop, how nature reclaims everything, impressive.

Today we wanted to move a few kilometers north, towards Jönköpping and then look for a parking space between Lake Vättern and Lake Vännern. Found a great one on Park4Night, in the hinterland instead of by the lake. After a complete closure on the highway and then 5 km through the boonies, the parking sign was crossed out, so it's probably gone. Shortly after, a warning message from the car, AdBlue needs to be refilled... typical.

Another look at the app reveals a place in nature nearby, let's go there. Standing wonderfully on a mountain, the sun shines in our faces, we're eating real Swedish food (or at least we think so) with smoked salmon, potatoes, crispbread, cucumber salad, and a dip (when shopping, we thought it was fish with a dip, but it was just the dip, it still tastes good with potatoes... or crispbread ;-)).

The sun is about to set, it's getting chilly, and the mosquitoes are coming out, Godnight!

PS: AdBlue has also been refilled, it brings a lot of conflict potential, but that's another story...
