Isafjordur
Today we anchor again in the northwest of Iceland and tender into the small town of Isafjordur on the beautiful Isafjordur. The wooden houses with corrugated iron roofs in the old town were built in the 18th and 19th centuries by fish traders.
It's 6 ° this morning and we see a cloudy sky again. The first thought is, where is the sun, but with all the beauty we see, the sun becomes secondary.
we were allowed to taste the refreshing glacier water. The waterfall is beautifully nestled in fresh greenery, with lupines and buttercups and some other flowers.
We gained deep insights into the history of the region associated with fishing at the Maritime Museum. There is also an accordion collection on display. As a treat, we got to try an Icelandic specialty, namely dried fish. It wasn't that bad. We washed down the taste with a sip of Aquavid. 😉
