Located in the heart of Osaka, Osaka Castle is a magnificent castle surrounded by an impressive complex.
Inside the castle is a museum that explains the history of the castle and everything it has been through.
In brief, in 1583, Toyotomi Hideyoshi built the castle as the center for his dream of a unified Japan. Over the years, the castle has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. The core of the current version is completely modern, only the exterior and the complex remain original.
From the top, you can have a great view of Osaka.
On the complex, there was a Craft Beer Festival that day. The Japanese celebrate such festivals by having a picnic. Everyone brings their own blanket, sits on the sidewalks, and enjoys the food and drinks.
We enjoyed visiting the museum because the information about the castle was visually presented.
