15.09.2018: Spontaneously we set off very early in the morning to reach the Rakotz Bridge. Fantastic pictures of the also called Devil's Bridge, which spans a lake, can be found on the internet. The bridge is part of a Rhododendron park created around 1845 near Kromlau and is made of hexagonal basalt stones from the neighboring Saxon Switzerland. Full of anticipation, we walked towards the bridge. But then the disappointment was great, because the bridge was no longer accessible, the lake had dried up and the entire area was fenced off with tree fences. We walked once around the dried up lake and were very fascinated by this Elvish-looking architecture and took some beautiful photos.
