After a restless night (must be travel fever) and a final breakfast at home on the kitchen table, the bikes were saddled and packed; shortly before nine we set off on our journey east. The first impression was definitely not the worst: a tailwind, a circumstance that was not to last all day ;-)
At lunchtime we stopped off at the open-air theatre in Coesfeld, where this year's "Sisters Act" is performing; the first performances were highly praised. The ensemble consists of amateurs, but they are accompanied by professional voice coaches and directors. If you still want tickets, you should hurry, many of the performances are already full.
At the request of a certain person traveling with us, we chose the shortest route, which, among other things, resulted in a few meters of elevation.
On the way, in good weather and lots of sun (the weather forecast was probably a legend - as the name suggests...), we enjoyed the Münsterland park landscape and the descriptions of the place that echoed to us through tobacco-blackened vocal cords in the middle of Münster: "One-way street". Passing Bundeswehr facilities that - out of service for a long time - seem to be just waiting for the soldiers streaming in after the reintroduction of conscription to find shelter there, we reached Füchtorf, where the Rennemeier family welcomed us into their wonderful holiday apartment.
