Well, I really messed up this time! One and a half days before the heatwave, I decide to do a city tour in pouring rain.
Pfffft...
And now I'm realizing something very unsympathetic about myself. When I travel a lot in a short amount of time, see a lot, experience a lot, I start making comparisons and become really snobbish and unfair.
'The one in Copenhagen was more original, the one in Thessaloniki was more political, the one in Ljubljana was more passionate...' 🤭
Oh well!
She couldn't do anything about the rain, I can't blame her for that.
Because of the weather, I had to quickly find somewhere to go...
I actually really like it when things just happen spontaneously. So while walking through the city center, I looked into a shop window... 'Oh, it sparkles!'... and suddenly, I spent almost an hour strolling through a jewelry gallery.
It was a completely different world, but it was beautiful at 'Carlotta and Friends' 💍
At this point, I have a personal request:
I saw beautiful wedding rings there, very cool, very romantic, unique!
Dear very rich women! Please contact me if you can imagine a future together with me... #misterpoorexceptbutugly
Thank you! 😘
Afterwards, it was time for relaxed reading in a café or an ice cream parlor.
But one thing remains the same: as the descendant of a refugee, I find it hard to spend 6.50 euros on a cup of coffee or 4.90 euros on a scoop of ice cream in a noisy and bustling tourist spot.
The charming alternative to reading?
Leather armchairs in the reading room of the Zurich City Library. ✌️
In the evening, I gave up on a cultural attempt.
An open-air broadcast of the ballet 'Romeo and Juliet' from the opera house was taking place on the Opera Square.
The atmosphere on the packed Opera Square was great.
But... ballet is just not opera!
I couldn't get into it at all yesterday. I left after half an hour.
The only downside is that I naturally don't know how the story ended. 🤭
