On the very last day, the sun was shining as if in competition with us, so we strolled through the old town of Strasbourg in a relaxed manner.
We had no idea that one last adventure was waiting for us.
We packed our bags, went to the train station, took one last look back, ...and then I reached for the handle on the door of the ICE train...
...but as Peter Maffay sang:
'When the hand reaches nothing, a whisper becomes a scream!'
No train! Crazy!
The explanation for our train not running was simply stunning: 'Your train doesn't run!
They then printed out an alternative route for us, which reminded me a little of the old 'Die Hard' and 'Lethal Weapon' movies.
There was always a countdown, which was very, very tight.
Transfer time: 3 minutes, your current delay: 2:50 minutes...10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 ...next stop: Fulda.
'One Night in Fulda'?đ
But in the end, it somehow worked out, and I arrived in Celle with a delay of about one hour...
It somehow worked out, like everything somehow worked out in the last 7 months...
