I heard that the day before yesterday on the Free Walking Tour and thought it was just a lame joke.
But it's really true: Swearing doesn't work in Slovenian.
There's a woman working at this great hostel here in Ljubljana!
Hupsi! And I'm in love again. 💕😏
She's amazing! Very likeable, used to work as a freelance graphic designer. But at some point it was too much. Now she works here at the hostel and she's happy, as she says, because she has more life left.
I understand that.
We had such a lovely and charming conversation. Ah, Slovenians.
She had some great tips for me, which I immediately put into practice today, the last day.
And during our charming chat, she also pointed out that there are no vulgar expressions in Slovenian, or at least they sound so sweet that swearing and insulting doesn't work.
She immediately pronounced 'Fotze'... in Slovenian it's 'pizda'.
When she says that, it sounds even sweeter.
And what does the crazy Slovenian do when he really wants to insult someone vulgarly?
Ha, he borrows swear words from Serbian or Bosnian.
Hats off! 🎩
And today?

Today, at 11:55 PM, my train to Munich will leave.
Too bad, I would love to stay longer...
