Today we were up early. The girls were awake for the first time in the night around 1am and at 4:45am, before sunrise, everyone was awake ;-)
We had breakfast at Tim Hortons before heading into downtown Calgary. From afar we could see the typical skyline with skyscrapers and the Calgary Tower.
We were lucky with parking as we could park for free because it was the weekend. We still got a parking ticket from the machine, even with our license plate on it:-D
First stop: Olympic Plaza with a large play area and basketballs and soccer balls. Since it was still early in the morning, the girls were able to let off steam undisturbed.
Then we went on to the Calgary Tower, where we were able to enjoy the spectacular view in all directions. We also saw a short film about how it was built.
After a stop at the Core Shopping Center with a playground and lunch, we went to Princes Island Park. We splashed around in the river a bit because it was very warm and played on the playground. There was a lot of pollen flying around here. It looked like it was snowing and everything was white. Finally, we went to the Peace Bridge. There was a lot of activity in the park in the afternoon and there were lots of inflatable boats etc. on the river.
On the way back we saw some "Pedal Pubs". They had a great atmosphere:-D
