Yesterday we visited the market in Chichi - the largest in Central America. There was so much to see, smell, and taste. The many impressions overwhelmed us. Despite the hustle and bustle, we couldn't get lost because Oliver stood out like a giant compared to the indigenous population.
Today we went swimming in Lake Atitlán. The lake is located at an altitude of 1562m and is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes. First, we took a boat to San Pedro, a picturesque town at the foot of the volcano of the same name. We visited a weaving workshop, which was super exciting: we now know how to spin cotton threads and dye them with natural colors (carrot, hibiscus, etc.). Then we drove to San Jose and from there to San Marco, a very chill place. Here, we had the opportunity to swim in the lake. The lake was surprisingly pleasant and even Pienzchen and I could swim.
