Our time is up and we say goodbye to Montreal with a bit of sadness but also with a lot of anticipation for the next stages and Christmas. We celebrated the Advent season with a lot of crafting, a breakfast with Santa, and visits to Christmas markets. The Christmas markets are different here, where people buy their trees and only listen to some music, grill a sausage by the gas fire, and freeze in icy temperatures. For this reason, the Christmas markets we know with different stands and shops are mostly found in shopping malls.
But the Santa Parade was a great experience, where Santa Claus is welcomed and celebrated with a big parade with lots of music and well-known characters. It was impressive, but unfortunately, it was too cold again, despite wearing five layers of clothing, everyone was frozen in the end.
In Montreal, it was minus 19°, which felt even colder with the wind, so we are glad to continue our journey.
