#10 Kangaroo Island - Flinders Chase National Park

Publicerad: 23.10.2018

The Flinders Chase National Park is located at the western end of Kangaroo Island and covers an area of 326 km².

Since we wanted to see as much as possible, we started early in the morning at 9:00.

Upon arrival, we picked up the tickets that we had booked and paid for in advance through the park's website. But first, we were greeted by two wild koalas in the trees in the parking lot. Absolutely adorable - that's how everyone should be welcomed.

With the ticket displayed on the windshield, we went straight to Admiral Arch. This is a huge cave created by nature. Through it, we were able to look out onto the sea and watch the seals sunbathing and playing in the water.

Afterwards, we drove to the Remarkable Rocks. This is a dome-shaped mountain right by the sea with huge rocks on top, which offer an impressive view of beautiful beaches and the ocean. The rocks have unique shapes that have been formed over 500 million years by the influence of wind, water, and waves.

Originally, we wanted to visit more attractions in the national park, but most of the trails require a 4-wheel drive, which our rental car unfortunately didn't have. So we headed back towards the hostel. On the way there, we stopped in the town of Kingscote (one of the largest towns on Kangaroo Island).

Small note: You're probably wondering why we have so few pictures of the two of us together. That's simply because at the attractions, you're usually on your own. Only very rarely are there other tourists who could take a picture of us together.
