Crazy house in Da Lat, Vietnam

Publicerad: 08.04.2019

Then it went a little further south into the interior of the country, away from the coast, to the mountains of Dalat. I didn't know yet that this would be my last stop in Vietnam. On the about 4-hour drive, I felt weak and my throat was scratchy... probably from the air conditioning, I thought. I had a super cute hostel, with a delicious family dinner in the evening with all guests at the table and a very cozy bed in a four-bed room. It wasn't as hot anymore, as it was in the mountains, but still warm. I immediately signed up for a tour for the next day, with a waterfall, flower farm, and more. It was booked for two nights... but when I woke up the next morning, I felt sick, my nose was stuffed, and I felt unwell. So I canceled the tour... at noon, I went to a vegetarian restaurant to eat with a girl from my room, who also came from Germany, and we visited the Crazy House, a house or hotel that looks totally crazy and you could walk around inside like in a labyrinth. It was a bit like Alice in Wonderland... after that, I felt so tired that I just wanted to sleep... and so it continued for the next few days, so that instead of two nights, I stayed for five nights, which I spent exclusively in bed. The staff at the hostel were super kind and took good care of me, they cooked fresh ginger tea and rice soup for me. When it didn't get better, they got worried and took me to the hospital. There I got checked, received an injection and two infusions, and lots of tablets. However, as nothing alarming was found, I assume it must have been the flu... I didn't take the tablets and relied on drinking a lot. After five nights, I had to continue because I had booked a flight - from Ho Chi Minh to Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, I had to take the last night bus at 11 p.m. so that I can catch the flight the next day. The bus arrived in Ho Chi Minh around 5 a.m., I was super exhausted and took a taxi to the airport. There I continued sleeping. Thanks to Ibuprofen, I also made it through the flight. Unfortunately, my nasal spray was empty, so the landing was quite painful for my ears. Half deaf, I arrived in Kuala Lumpur. But at least: made it. :-)
