Hello Hello
Today many things turned out differently than planned...
The day started great! Bright sunshine, good mood and two of our drivers were already on their way early to pick up the last missing vehicle from the workshop and the required drive shaft.
Their return was planned for around 11 o'clock. Kevin prepared everything in advance and solved the defective drive shaft so that it could move faster later.
At around 11:30 a call came in: they were able to pick up the vehicle from the workshop and drove back, bbbbuuuuuuttt.... after about 50 kilometers, the clutch pedal did not release anymore, meaning: it stayed down. This was because there was a loss of brake fluid for the clutch somewhere, and therefore no pressure could be built up.
Wynja and her friend Mike went to pick them up. The car went on the tow truck and will be taken to Switzerland.
By around 3 p.m., our team was complete again and at least the new drive shaft had arrived. In the meantime, however, another one of our drivers had a problem with his compressor: it got way too hot.
Until about 5 p.m., the cars were tinkered with, screwed on and repaired.
We have never had so many breakdowns here!
Robin and Marco already left us this evening to get a good night's sleep before the work week starts again. Marco was so kind and let me use his great SLR camera. After Racewars, I will take care of it and hope to get even more out of the photos :).
Now we still have three cars in the race and hope that everything holds up...
After a test run, we now know: the drive shaft holds up! The one with the compressor problem has a considerable loss of performance and everyone is trying their best to find a solution. It's really great how everyone helps and supports our remaining drivers :).
They kept driving, then something was adjusted again, etc, etc....
In the evening after the races, we all sat together in the tent, grilled, drank a little and enjoyed our time together here.
How many of us will still be driving tomorrow and who will leave when is still unclear. For our part, we will definitely not drive far and look for a sweet spot for the night or a little longer :)).
See you tomorrow!
Oh yes, the pictures will also follow today, promised ;)
