But suddenly there were relaxations in early July: hotels and B&Bs were allowed to reopen and pubs as well. Only the quarantine remained. But it was also abolished in England at the end of July for certain countries, including Germany. Hooray, a glimmer of hope. Only flights to Newquay were still missing from the list...
At some point I realized: the car is probably the only way to get to Cornwall in this crazy year. But how to plan and book in uncertain times? While cleaning the car, I realized again how spacious the Caddy actually is, you could almost sleep in it...
And so the new plan emerged: to build a sleeping area in the Caddy and head to Cornwall...
Thank goodness the internet is full of construction instructions. I opted for a very simple version. After all, I just want to sleep in it, not cook properly, etc.
Furthermore, it had to be done quickly, because time is running out... During my conversion, Belgium, the Netherlands and France were put back on the quarantine list... Oh oh, will we make it 'over' in time? There was also the entry form and the 'evil' transit countries Luxembourg, Belgium and France...
