After a day and a half in Loket, the journey was supposed to continue. The plan was to take a bus to Sokolov to see if staying there is a good idea or where to go next. I left the campsite relatively late (opulent breakfast with fresh pancakes, etc. is better enjoyed when you have time) and could only watch the planned bus drive away... Now I had more time than I wanted, but intensive research on the timetables revealed the possibility to take a bus a few hours later directly to Plzeň.
So there I was on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, around 4:00 p.m. I had to walk about half an hour from the bus stop to the desired campsite at Velký Bolevecký Rybnik (a lake on the northern outskirts of the city). After setting up the camp, I took a little walk around the Bolevec district. Here, the city of Pilsen had spread around a small village. Now the mostly preserved rural idyll with the multi-sided farms, the church, and the cobblestone paths is in the middle of a panel housing estate. Probably the contrast with the surrounding buildings is what makes the place so charming to me...
Back at the campsite, I go for another swim in the clear water and then to the nest.
