Back to Vancouver

Here we are now, at the ferry terminal in Nanaimo. We were supposed to take the ferry at 3:30 PM. But on the highway, there were already signs indicating that this ferry is full, and the one at 5:15 PM is already at 73% capacity. Now our car is in Lane 8 and we are sitting here in front of Starbucks, waiting. Unfortunately, we didn't consider that many people are traveling to Vancouver Island over the weekend and returning on Sunday. Next time we will be smarter and make a reservation.

On Friday, we had rain almost the entire day. In the early evening, we took a walk along the beach and had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Mats had tagliatelle with seafood and I had tagliatelle with vegetables.

Yesterday, the weather was better again. The sun even came out. We visited the Botanical Garden and then went to MacKenzie Beach. In the evening, we went to Tofino to have a delicious dinner at the Schooner.

Today started with the SC Freiburg vs VfB Stuttgart match. It ended in a draw... 3:3.

Only 1 1/2 hours left, then hopefully we'll board the ferry. We should be in Vancouver around 7 PM. First, we'll go to the Sandman Hotel to drop off our luggage, and then go to Canada Place to return the car.
