After landing at 05:00 in Hanoi and going through the simple arrival procedure, I had enough time to get to the hostel, so I took the bus right away🚍. The approximately 30 km cost about 0.50€ in total and were worth the fun 😂. The most difficult part was finding the bus stop at the beginning. It is located at Terminal 1, while I landed at Terminal 2. Despite the taxi drivers' comments that there would be no bus running at that time, I put on my backpack and walked the kilometer over. And behold, Google didn't lie and the bus was running. On the way to the city, I noticed the Southeast Asian conditions for the first time. At least 5 million scooters rushing in every direction past the bus and along the sidewalk towards the old town. Accordingly, we stood in traffic in the city for an hour during rush hour, which resulted in the bus driver being woken up by an older lady to continue driving 😂🙈. Otherwise, Hanoi definitely leads to sensory overload. There is absolutely no order, but that's what makes it somehow very charming.
After arriving at the hostel and dropping off my backpack, I had a pho bo breakfast at one of the 6 million pho bo stalls. Afterwards, it was time to deal with the laundry bag (0.60€) and now the day starts with an egg coffee. Check-in is possible from 14:00, so I will probably have to get another massage before check-in 🤷♂️😉.
