Miami 25. 7. - 29.7.

Diterbitkeun: 25.07.2019

On the 25th we drive from Naples to Miami passing by the Everglades.

We arrive there around 2:00 PM.

After checking in, we go to the beach. However, we are soon chased away by heavy storms.

It stops raining again in the evening and we start searching for a suitable restaurant.

Not far from our hotel, we find a lively side street with many Italian restaurants.

In front of every restaurant, you are encouraged by a mostly attractive lady to eat there.

Eventually, we decide to try an Italian restaurant.

Marie really likes the Vongole! My pasta with pesto, on the other hand, is boring.

Afterwards, we stroll along the beach promenade and then along the famous Ocean Drive.
We are accompanied by a lot of noise coming from the restaurants and bars.
Eccentric characters (especially black ones) and pushy animators in front of the restaurants keep us busy!
We are glad to be back in the hotel room.

The next day, we pick up our car from the parking garage ($20/day) and drive to Haulover Naturist Beach.

In the afternoon, the sea is crystal clear and pleasantly warm.
We are lucky with the weather today - no showers.
There are also plenty of eccentric characters here.
There is a huge warehouse for ships in the parking lot.

In the evening, we search for the famous Art Deco houses on Ocean Drive:

Finally, we also find the Versace House.

In the end of Ocean Drive, we discover a TGI Fridays - there we choose a delicious dinner.
We are surprised by a rain shower, but manage to get back to the hotel dry.

The next day, we are drawn back to Haulover Naturist Beach.

In the evening, we have Cuban chicken legs and

Unfortunately, Rainer's dish is covered with coriander (ugh). Marie has to sacrifice herself.
We try to find a liquor store that offers a decent and affordable digestive drink, but unfortunately we have no success.
Every day, our floor in the hotel smells terribly of cannabis.
These clouds constantly surround you on the streets. We're already quite high!!?

The next day, we visit the beach section near our hotel:

The lifeguards take their job very seriously here. They constantly whistle (often nobody knows why) or drive their section of the beach with a quad bike.

We have dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Miami North Beach. We are rewarded with a $20 voucher after our previous visits.
Of course, we take advantage of that.

We also find a liquor store next to it that currently has special offers. We take advantage of it again.
Then we drive through the evening traffic, passing by some accidents, back to the hotel.
We briefly use the ice machine in the hotel to cool the drinks (we don't have a fridge in the room).

The next day, after breakfast (and packing our suitcases - practice for the departure the day after tomorrow), we head to Key West.
