I would rather not leave Prachuap at all. It is a city that has so many great sides to it that you can only feel comfortable:
1. Tame macaques that allow themselves to be fed and jump on your back to be fed peanuts there
2. A beautiful, long beach promenade where you can go jogging or sit on the wall in the evenings with a drink
3. A great night market where even one stall knows how to prepare a vegetarian noodle dish (which is rare)
4. A large day market where you can find everything from papaya, salads that you can put together yourself, fresh coconuts, herbs, vegetables, stews, sushi, sticky rice with mango,...
5. Incredibly friendly Thais, no matter where you look
6. A homestay where we feel at home, with a funny, lively operator who makes fruit shakes in the morning and knows how to seal the house with tarpaulins against the worst rain
7. A beautiful beach with casuarina trees, which can be reached by scooter in 10 minutes
8. A massage parlor where a cheerful 90-year-old looks out the door and invites customers to a really great massage (though not by him)
9. A nearby Makro supermarket where you can apparently even get cheese
10. Restaurant operators who greet us on the street
11. A train station where you can buy train tickets 24 hours a day in case the wanderlust grips you again
