Namibia 2024:

On rocky paths….

Today we want to head towards Etosha. There the

There, the focus will no longer be only on the fascinating landscapes, but also on the hopefully abundant wildlife!

Since the entire route would be too long, we split it and head to our stopover at the Ugab Terrace Lodge.

That's about 260 kilometers that we want to demolish today.

Carsten is taking the wheel today and DJ Speckhut Didi is providing fresh beats in our carriage.

The road is in a catastrophic condition.

The 200 kilometers are on a road surface that feels like corrugated iron.

The driver and the DJ have their eyes focused on the road.

Every now and then our load starts to swerve, but Carsten bravely stays on course.

The last 60 kilometers are asphalted and our tour group breathes a sigh of relief!

The lodge is located on a high plateau and the drive awakens a sense of adventure in everyone. It goes steeply up the ridge, the car is parked so steeply that we can no longer see over the hood.

Then it tips over and goes downhill again, only to go up again afterwards. Really exciting!!

Once at the top, we are treated to a breathtaking view of the Ugab Valley.

Everyone has a hut with a terrace that offers a phenomenal view.

The huts are a bit simpler than our previous accommodations, but still charming and lovingly designed.

We are greeted warmly and immediately feel at home here.

The manager has a 6-week-old puppy named Savannah, who also greets us very exuberantly.

She is so sweet that he has to be careful that Susi doesn't take the sweetie with her. Coopi would be happy... 🐶

We relax a bit by the pool and then hike to the lodge's viewpoint.

There, the oversized middle finger of Namibian nature proudly stretches out towards the golden sunset.

In common parlance this is called a Vinger Clip.🤔🫣

We end the afternoon on the lodge terrace.

The landscape is truly stunning and we can hardly get enough of it.

Then it says again:

Wash hands, comb hair

and off to dinner.

The dinner was lovingly prepared and served very friendly.

It was delicious, but couldn't compete with the previous dinners.

Nevertheless, we can recommend this lodge!

The location and friendliness of the staff is top 🔝

And now like every evening an Amarula and then:

Good night Africa!!

PS: don’t think we drink Amarula for fun…

We were assured that this is the best malaria prophylaxis! Health comes first😜

Tomorrow we will be in Etosha, where the wild animals will hopefully already be waiting for us.
