It's hot! It was already 25 degrees Celsius in the morning, and during the day the temperature rose to over 35 degrees. In the evening, it was still 30 degrees at nine o'clock. It was too hot for my wife on our balcony, but I stayed outside for a while.
When I asked my colleagues how hot it got last summer, they replied, 'officially not above 40 degrees!' Huh?!? Officially?!? What's there to officialize? If it's more than 40 degrees, all the employees in the 'field service' don't have to work anymore. So the hardworking street sweepers would have a day off. That's not fair!
It's a good thing we have an air-conditioned office building with different climates. In our open-plan office, the air conditioning is on and the windows are opened. I didn't start a 'does that make sense' debate, as it only disturbs the female employees. In the neighboring office, a colleague sits under the air conditioner and always covers herself with a blanket over her head and shoulders. A surreal image in the midst of transparent colleagues.
Some meeting rooms are cooled down so much that you immediately miss your beloved cardigan. The bus also has air conditioning. It's always a matter of putting on a vest, taking off a vest...
A Chinese friend said, 'Summer in Suzhou is hell', so we should stay indoors.
Well, those are some prospects.
