The broken bed

Diterbitkeun: 02.04.2019

The night on the temporary bed solution wasn't so bad. The time difference and fresh air sent us to bed at 8:00 p.m. In the middle of the night, a bladder call requires a trip to the campsite and a teeth brushing session. Using an electric toothbrush while camping feels wrong.

Meanwhile, capturing the starry sky. It's hard to do with a phone, but the result will serve as a memory.

The starry sky is so beautiful.

In the morning, we will speak with the landlord about the bed. The replacement/repair will probably take place tomorrow along our route. I think the landlord Wilderness does a good job.

Our plan is set, and we relax in the late morning on the nearby starting hiking trail, the Rakaia Gorge Walkway. The weather is changeable. We have everything with us: sun, rain, wind, and clouds. Accordingly, we have a diverse wardrobe.

The hiking trail follows the Rakaia River, which winds along Mt. Hutt (2,190 meters). The views from the trail are consistently beautiful.

There are steep uphill sections followed by steep downhill sections.

This is on very narrow paths along giant pine trees. The scent of the pine trees permeates the nose, reminding us of saunas and baths.

Along the way, there are always these amazing shapes and colors of nature that distract from the already magnificent views of the river.

Halfway through, there is a detour to an old, closed coal mine. Any attempts to get inside were in vain. We were outside, coal was inside.

And then this. Can't you do anything these days?
Okay, okay, then not!
Okay, okay, then not!

The trail is about 11.5 kilometers long. That's not very much. We're going with a supply of delicious local sausages, a carrot, and a mixed nut blend. After about 2 and a half hours, when we reach the viewpoint, we will take a break. We keep seeing sparrows. They seem a bit frantic and have a captivating rear end.

After a great hike, we had self-made burgers. There was no greeting from the kitchen.

Then, dishes and fatigue.

Oh, yes, there is still a sheep picture on individual request. A little blurry ... unfortunately, they were far away and ran further when they saw us.

Any wishes, suggestions? Bring them on. I'm looking forward to the feedback.

;-) XD LG Sarah
