Passion...

I found this picture on the internet today!

Are people still salvageable?

Let's not talk about capitalization here. I think it's completely okay if someone doesn't have anything to do with God or the church. From my perspective, people can also demonstrate against the ban on dancing on Good Friday. (Happy is the one who has no bigger worries.) However, I need peace myself and I am deeply convinced that it does us good to incorporate quiet, calm, and contemplative phases into our hectic lives.

But what I really don't like at all:

People constantly whispering around me in cafes and kebab shops (!), saying that we must save the Christian faith from this alienation, that the downfall of Christian Europe is imminent and then they send something like that around.

That's when I grab my head and prefer to go back to church quickly.

On Maundy Thursday, I attended a church service in Greenlandic language in Copenhagen. That was strange when you don't understand anything from the sermon. But to celebrate the Holy Communion in another country with completely unfamiliar people, that's a nice feeling. Somehow, we all belong to the same family after all.

And today, on Good Friday, I found the German St. Petri Church in Copenhagen and attended the church service there.

Members of the St. Petri choir performed the St. John Passion by Heinrich Schütz.

Or as the pastor very educatedly enlightened us:

The 'History of the Suffering and Dying of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ according to the Evangelist St. John'

Church music?

Moved!

Words sometimes don't quite capture it... and silly WhatsApp pictures certainly don't either.
