Today we had our longest distance to cover (over 300 km), as it was time to leave Dunes Boutique Guest House in Paternoster, where we spent the past weekend.
In Vredenburg, we refueled with unleaded fuel and then the road took us along the coast via Langebaan back to the Cape Town metropolitan area.
We still passed the only nuclear power plant in South Africa (also the only one on the African continent), which is very close to Cape Town (near Melkbosstrand). There are two pressurized water reactors with a gross capacity of 970 MW (930 MW net, Framatome type) installed, Framatome has a 51% stake in the operating company (source wikipedia).
We continued to Bloubergstrand, where we made a stop at the hotel/restaurant Blue Peter and took a short break. Around 12:30 we headed towards Paarl via N7 and N1, where we had another coffee break at de Leeuwenhof Estate. The route then took us via Stellenbosch and Muizenberg to Fish Hoek, where we looked for our accommodation, the 1 Mountain Rd B&B. It is worth mentioning that the Mountain Rd consists of two separate sections and they are separated by an impassable section of about 300 m. You already know it, we were of course in the wrong section and didn't find our accommodation.
A quick call to Ray clarified the situation and with his instructions we also found the second part of Mountain Rd and therefore our last accommodation of our South Africa trip. The unobstructed view of Fish Hoek Bay (towards Muizenberg) is breathtaking (by the way, the pictures in the profile of 1 Mountain Rd B&B are not "photoshopped").
At around 18:15 an Uber picked us up and took us to Dixies in Simonstown for dinner, where we had something delicious. We also ordered an Uber for the way back.
