As announced earlier, there is not much to report today. And that is a good sign for us because it means we have had a lazy day ☺️. After breakfast, we took our bikes to explore the resort. The Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel, or BDLBH for short 😂, stretches from the entrance to the beach, and thus our villa, for 1.5 km (!) and winds its way through the mangrove forest like a tube, interrupted only by lagoons and the cenote. The cenote is a deep hole created by a cave collapse and fed by a freshwater spring. For the Maya, it is a sacred and mystical place. The water in our cenote is bright green, something we have never seen before.
After seeing the main parts of the hotel, such as the spa and restaurants 😂😂, we wanted to stop by the ATM (by the way, they only have dollars there, which you can use everywhere), to withdraw some cash. And since we are also flying to New York, we thought 500$ would be a good amount. But then this stupid ATM wanted to charge us 58.95$. So we quickly took our card out and decided to go cashless. They are crazy 😡....
Once we reached the beach, our frustration disappeared and we enjoyed the lovely weather in our private Balinese Bed, reserved just for us, located right in front of our villa no more than 10 meters from the sea, and always equipped with towels. We ordered several cocktails, luckily included in the hotel price 😊😊, and while we happily and contently let the sun shine on our bellies, eight pelicans flew by in formation. Wonderful !!!
