The morning started with good weather, after breakfast we went to the Armenian Genocide Museum.
The adjacent memorial spread a oppressive atmosphere, possibly intensified by the old lady who diligently rearranged the flowers around the fire. I would have liked to know what drives her.
The visit to the museum left me speechless. It is unimaginable what people can do to each other. After a short time, I lost my desire to take photos. You have to see it for yourself.
Near the museum, there is also a huge event hall where I briefly stopped by, the walk was nice.
Then I returned to the hotel, started the van again, and drove to the surrounding area. I had some information about a small village called Geghashen outside Yerevan, where German is taught in the school.
When I arrived there, I met the principal and the German teacher. They showed me the school and the upcoming German-language library. If I had known this earlier, I could have contributed something here.
The children here learn Russian from the second grade, German from the third grade, and English from the fifth grade. Respect.
If I hadn't been so slow and had arrived earlier, I could have witnessed the oral German exams of the ninth graders.
Of course, I left a little something from my collection for the school and the adjacent kindergarten. As has happened several times lately, I also received a gift in return, polite attempts to decline were once again unsuccessful. This time it was Armenian chocolate and Armenian coffee...
The subsequent drive back to Yerevan was very pleasant, the area is scenically beautiful, there was a lot to discover along the way. The cloud cover also changed, creating great shadow patterns in Yerevan and the surrounding area.
Today's distance was 71km. It made me want to go on a longer trip again. Roll down the window, turn on the music and just cruise along without haste...
