18.04. Geysir, Haka, Spa

Diterbitkeun: 18.04.2018

This is the condensed formula for today. After a hearty breakfast in good company, we visited the 'Te Puia' thermal field in Rotorua and followed the standard tourist program. The thermal fields are fully commercialized. Okay, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the largest geyser in the southern hemisphere (up to 30 m). The 'Pohutu' geyser was a bit weak while we were there, but it still left us in awe. We also got to experience some Maori culture, including the Haka war dance, during a small show. The Asians were thrilled, but for us, it was too touristy.

In the afternoon, we indulged in the thermal pools of the 'Polynesian Spa'. The tapped thermal pools are as always 'famous' and are said to be good for everything: ageless beauty, baby-smooth skin, obesity, arthritis, impotence, internal ailments, all kinds of pain. Let's see what it does for us....
