Over the past two days, we have explored Sydney as much as possible in such a short time. Now we understand why Sydney is a dream destination for many. The city is one big, very stylish harbor.
Yesterday, we went on a guided half-day tour ('Bonza-Bike') by bike. We only managed to see the absolute highlights. It is always fascinating to see the Opera, Harbour Bridge, and skyline from different angles.
Today, we walked through the city center towards Darling Harbour. We had lunch at the Fish Market (completely dominated by Asians). We returned by ferry, enjoying the great views again. In the late afternoon, we spent time in Manly, one of the many suburbs with a city beach. It only takes 15 minutes to get there by fast ferry.
Unfortunately, a huge cruise ship blocked our view of the Opera today. Outrageous.
To cure our homesickness a bit, we visited an Australian ALDI here, drank a Kölsch or wheat beer at a brewery pub, and had dinner at the 'Munich Brauhaus' (with a cultural program). It is worrying what ideas people have about Bavaria in Australia 😕. After that, we felt somewhat better....
