Full of anticipation and a bit done from today's working day, we reached the airport. Luckily Micha drove us to the terminal and saved us a lot of stress. We stood in line to drop off our suitcases, but otherwise the check-in went smoothly and quickly, which was probably also due to the security check on the first floor in Terminal 1, which was new for us. A bit tired I leafed through the travel guide and waited for our area to be called. We took our seats in the Emirates plane on time and waited, waited and waited. The flight was now 30 minutes late. The cause was a medical emergency. A passenger could not be taken with him and his luggage was searched for. Everyone should identify their hand luggage, otherwise it will be unloaded. However, this was not so easy as the first ones had already fallen asleep. After a delay of more than an hour we were finally able to take off. Since I was a bit hungry I watched shows like Blindspot as we figured it wouldn't last too long. However, we were wrong about that. This time the service left a lot to be desired. Dinner was served around 1:30 a.m. and then drinks. Tired, we quickly ate our meal and tried to catch at least a little sleep. Unfortunately, Stephan was less successful because he was startled by his neighbor, who was calculating wild integrals and matrices. Whenever Stephan was almost asleep, the mathematician woke up, jumped up, came back after a short time and was able to fall asleep immediately.
