Not quite as early as planned, but without pressure we start at 10:30 am. Start of our vacation bike tour to #Venice. The first 20km are more or less familiar to us and, despite the slight excitement about what awaits us on our journey, it is somehow nothing special. The Teasi (bike navigation) is doing its job in secret - I simply don't pay attention to it in this early phase of our tour. I also pay little attention to the landscape at the moment.
As we get further away from Althütte, we enter more and more unfamiliar territory. I pay attention to the navigation on one hand, and on the other hand, I pay more attention to the impressions of the landscapes and places. With every kilometer we drive, I feel the everyday life moving further away and getting closer to our vacation. Amazing! How quickly this goes by bike.
#Bopfingen
This is where part of my roots lie. My great-grandparents come from Bopfingen. Well, the craftsmanship seems to come from this direction as well. My great-grandfather was a mason and carpenter. My great-uncle was also a carpenter and I think he greatly inspired and excited me for this great craft. According to the stories of my great-grandmother, my great-grandfather was involved in the legendary "Bärenwäsche" in 1936 in Bopfingen. I still have to get to the bottom of this story.
