Next morning, we kept our fingers crossed that everything would go smoothly with our rental car. Since we couldn't drive fast with our spare tire, we decided to take the slow route that passes by Zion National Park. We didn't get to see much of it the day before due to the rapidly approaching darkness. We enjoyed some great views of the park's mountains and eventually arrived at the small airport in the town of St. George. The car rental switch went without any problems. After a total of 3,900 miles, we returned our Ford Edge and continued with a Kia Sorrento. Our destination for today was the town of Pahrump for overnight stay. Along the way, we made a stop at Valley of Fire State Park, the oldest and largest state park in Nevada. Its name comes from the red sandstone formations that formed 150 million years ago from large wandering dunes. It was a nice visit, but by now we had discovered much more impressive landscapes in the USA.
