I haven't written for a few days, not because there's nothing to tell....
On the contrary - I just have a slump !!!
I'm kind of tired and drained ! It's probably normal at some point in the journey !!
But hey !! 😉
We met a very nice family on our Outback Tour who rented a house in the middle of the rainforest near Port Douglas. They invited us to visit them and spend a night there a few days ago! We gladly accepted the invitation!
But first, let's enjoy the day at the beach in Cairns!
Unfortunately, no one uses the beach! There are dangerous box jellyfish everywhere! These are the jellyfish whose touch can quickly lead to death.
Instead, there is a super nice public 'swimming pool' with a pool of saltwater and sand as the bottom - right by the sea! The whole place is free, super clean, and guarded by 4 lifeguards! They are dressed in yellow and red DHL colors and constantly walk around with a rescue device in their hand or sit on towers and observe the playing children through binoculars!
We are particularly fascinated by the barbecue areas that are everywhere, including here! Not only can you use them for free (gas-operated plates that work at the touch of a button), but they are also soooo clean and are always left so clean. Daniel can hardly believe it. Later, we will buy oven spray specifically to achieve the same cleanliness. We doubt that it would work in Germany for everyone to maintain such facilities.
Here at the 'swimming pool,' we appreciate the camper. It's so small that we can park it anywhere, and we always have dishes, food, and swimwear with us! So we cook while Mika plays in the sand - appropriately supervised! Then we leave Cairns and head to Port Douglas in the rainforest via the beautiful winding coastal road, and we are very excited about what awaits us!
P.S. Here in Australia, almost all food products are equipped with so-called Healthy Stars!!!
Chickpeas have 5 out of 5 stars. Cookies only have half a star - no surprise 😂!
