Cape Town is the vibrant center of South Africa and the unofficial capital. Overlooked by Table Mountain, the city nestles around it and the Signature Hill with Lions Head!
Just along the Signature Hill, villa after villa lines up. The townships of the poor, on the other hand, have been pushed far inland.
After a walk along the beach promenade, we went from Sea Point to the Waterfront. The shopping and entertainment mile right at the harbor is busy in the evenings and offers good food and entertainment.
What should not be missed on a visit to Cape Town??
Table Mountain (which will follow later - weather permitting) and the Cape of Good Hope. So our route took us along spectacular coastlines and port cities to the Cape of Good Hope, the southeasternmost part of Africa.
From the sign (which gathered a crowd of people in front of it, each waiting to take a photo in front of it) the road led to the Cape, where a beautiful view could be enjoyed. The road continued to Cape Point, the old lighthouse. That had to be reached.
Here too, you were rewarded with a beautiful view over False Bay.
The new one could be admired from the viewing platforms!
We returned past a penguin colony near Simons Town towards Cape Town.
