Today was another travel and fly day. The distance from Guatape to Cartagena is about 700 km, and we didn't want to take the bus. Getting to Guatape from our accommodation was not easy. You could walk the distance if you no longer see any sense in life 😅. It's all roads, lots of cars, etc. The nice lady from the accommodation drove us to the road after we asked her if she could call us a taxi. But then we stood on the busy road and no taxi came. So we decided to walk for a while. Luckily, not for long, a bus passed by. We signaled and the bus picked us up. In the next bus, we had to get off at a place that was not a bus stop. This was the way to the airport in Medellin. Besides the constant meowing of a cat (after all, it couldn't be completely without noise), the music was off, I heard a man getting on and he said something about the airport. I had to keep an eye on him, he must have had the same destination. And actually, he got off where we wanted to get off. We quickly crossed a highway and waited for the last bus to the airport. It's always quite a tour on a travel day. There was a long line at the check-in counter at the airport. When it was finally our turn, the nice lady told us we were too early and should come back in 1:30 hours. 🤔 We looked dumbfounded. She probably noticed it because shortly after, she simply got us an earlier flight. That's what I call flexibility.👍
When we arrived at the accommodation in Cartagena, we were a bit shocked. The area doesn't exactly feel safe, but the host family is very nice and the rooms are clean. For a moment, we were speechless, so we walked in silence to the old town. Sometimes it's like that. You need to readjust. We walked into the old town, found a nice restaurant, and enjoyed the evening atmosphere of Cartagena.
