HuHu,
We are proud to say that we did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing!
It is an alpine crossing that passes through two volcanoes. It is indescribable!! As we were hiking up, we noticed that the weather was changing. But we were lucky to have a relatively good view of the best parts of the track. I felt like I was walking on the moon... We saw several craters and geothermal hot pools. On the way down, it started raining heavily. Fortunately, it stopped raining for a while, so I was able to take some pictures. This is what our journey looked like. It was about 20km, approximately 1500 meters of elevation, and it took us 7 hours and over 300 pictures :D
The best part: We arrived at the camping site completely soaked, and they had a free hot tub that we could use! Of course, we immediately took advantage of it ;)
It was amazing, our bones and muscles loved it J
The next day, we headed to Taupo. We stopped at a lake in the national park and at a field where you can see the remains of a Maori fortress. The view of the three volcanoes was also stunning :D
