Experiences in the jungle

The first day - our trip to Tarapoto (17th-20th January). The journey went surprisingly smoothly. We were on the road for 6 hours, and the flight lasted just over an hour. We were greeted with 33 degrees and high humidity, and we were glad that our taxi was a motorcycle taxi with no roof. It took us about half an hour, with some barely passable roads, and even a suspension bridge, to get to our Shimiyacu Lodge. The lodge is simple but beautifully located right next to a river, surrounded by many exotic plant species. Our house was on the hill, and thanks to the mesh windows, it was always pleasantly breezy inside. There were frequent power fluctuations, so we usually charged our phones at the reception/breakfast area. In the evenings, the cricket concert started. Incredibly loud and diverse. We tried to count the differences in sounds - no chance. Towards morning, sudden silence - and a new concert started. As if directed by a conductor. On the second night, there was also a frog concert. We went to bed very early in the evenings, as there was nothing to do in the dark. But many large fireflies flew past the window.
