Day 23, from Yavornista to Petric and then to Goze Deltschew.

Today we started at 8:30. We walked along the asphalt road through 4 villages for about 7.5 km, then on a gravel road for about 4.5 km, which is currently being developed into an asphalt road, and another 2 km to Petric. Willi had considered having a quick coffee at our accommodation, but then decided to have one in the next village. In the next village, there were too many people in the first café, too sunny in the second café, also too sunny in the third, and he didn't like the fourth café either - he wants to have a coffee in the next village. But there was no coffee in the next village - keep going, but now he really needs a coffee! However, I didn't feel like climbing 150 meters in altitude just for a coffee, so I suggested that he goes up to the village, has his coffee there, and we meet again at the exit of the village. But he didn't want to do that either. We walked several more kilometers without coffee until we finally arrived in Petric after about 15 km. I saw the first café, but Willi didn't like it, and there were more to follow. When we arrived in the town center, there were three cafés, but they didn't suit him either. Finally, he saw a café in the distance on the market square 🍵 that suited him! Thank goodness🤪!! The only thing that surprised me was that there wasn't a single tree in sight, which he actually still needs! In Petric, I had a family reunion. I met the parents-in-law of my son here. They were on their way to Greece and our paths crossed here. We went to eat pizza - shared some travel experiences and parted ways again after about 2 hours. But we took a taxi about 70 km to Goze Deltschew, as there was only a busy main road to get there.

(Willi) I experienced today how much joy you can bring to a person by giving them a €5 tip. After many hand signals and makeshift words, he hopped into the car saying, 'Michael Schumacher' and floored it, making me really fear that he would wreck his shiny 30-year-old Daimler car.
